Equal Employment Opportunity is a fundamental principle at the Bedford Park District, where employment is based upon personal capabilities and qualifications without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic as established by law.
In accordance with federal, state and local laws, it is the policy of the Bedford Park District to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified persons. All personnel policies, procedures and decisions pertaining to hire, promotion, transfer, layoff, rate of pay, discipline, discharge and other terms and conditions of employment are made and executed without discrimination as protected by state or federal law.
The Executive Director and Board of Commissioners have responsibility for the enforcement of this policy and maintain reporting and monitoring procedures.
Bedford Park District has no openings for employment at this time.
The BPD adult and youth programs depend upon interested and concerned individuals to officiate in the various sports leagues. Certified officials are encouraged to apply to maintain a high quality program and work with younger officials. The pay varies depending upon level of the league and experience. Applications are available at the Swanson Center. The position of sports official is continually needed, so it remains open year round.
