Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
Per the Illinois Freedom of Information Act 5 ILCS 140/3 (h) (i); Each public body may promulgate rules and regulations in conformity with the provisions of the Section pertaining to the availability of records and procedures to be followed, including the times and place where such records will be made available. Requests may be submitted and public inspections of documents will be granted during the following hours; Mondays 9AM until 4PM, Tuesdays/Thursdays 1PM until 4PM, and Wednesdays/Fridays 9AM until Noon. Please be advised that some documents require redactions and are not available for immediate inspection.
The public may request information regarding public records from the Administration Office, lacated at the Bedford Park Community Building: 6652-6700 S. 78th Avenue, Bedford Park, IL 60501. The phone number for that location is 708-458-2265.
Fees for copies are as allowed per Section 6 of the Freedom of Information Act.
The fee for a certified record is $1.00 per record.
Records immediately available for review are all current open meeting minutes approved by the Board of Commissioners, current Levy Ordinance, and current Budget & Appropriation Ordinance.
Other records available for review in the Community Building or for copies, within 5 days, include Accounts Payable Records, Payroll Records, Replacement Tax Income, Property Tax Income, Personnel Policies and Procedures, Board Policy Manual, Playground Maintenance Records, Vehicle Maintenance Records, Inventory Records, Election Records, and Correspondence.
Upon receipt of all FOI requests, the FOI officer will notate the date and time the request was received and the availability date of the documents. Any documents not retrieved within 10 business days of their availability date will be disposed of.
